When most people think of the Central Coast, they usually think of beaches and waterways. But there is much more to the region than pretty nature and walks – not only does the Central Coast have its own
writers festival , but it is home to some amazing art throughout the region. necessary.
There are many ways to explore the
art of the region , from walks to galleries, some of which are featured below.
Warre Warren
Start your Central Coast art journey with an exploration of the Darkinjung cultural tours that will show you a sacred site called Warre Warren in a five-to-six-hour daylong tour of a rock art site and traditional camping ground. The tour features an exclusive site that has over 200 rock art sites that date back 10,000 years. As you experience the natural bushland during this tour, you will see the images left by elders, mothers, fathers, and children from many years ago as you sit in awe of their presence. Please respect culture – guests on the tour are welcome by invitation only with

Salty Art by Mia
Salty by Mia is open by appointment on Thursdays to Sundays between ten am and four pm at Ettalong Beach, and showcases beautiful watercolours, and also as
workshop – check out her website for more information on Salty by Mia, her art, and her workshops. As a watercolour artist, Mia takes inspiration from the sea and backyard aquariums on the Central Coast.
Ken Duncan Gallery
Ken Duncan is one of Australia’s most well-known nature photographers, and he has a gallery on the Central Coast where you can view and buy the photos that he has taken around the world. The gallery showcases these photographs and has a café attached to it, so you can combine your jaunt around the gallery with a snack or meal, or head over to the theatre for an audio-visual presentation and check out the shop to have some of Ken’s work from this highlight of the Central Coast.

KAB Gallery in
Terrigal is along the beachfront on Terrigal Esplanade and is a trusted international art brand that offers Australian collectable art to a global audience. It was established in 2013 thanks to Kerry-Anne Blanket’s passion for art, education and knowing everything she can possibly know about art collection, art investment, art valuation, and selling art. Gosford Regional Gallery
East Gosford is home to one of the Central Coast’s best-known art galleries, the Gosford Regional Gallery, which is also home to the Edogawa Commemorative Garden. It’s open every day, apart from New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day from 9.30am until 4pm, with free entry, a café and a restaurant as well as a gift shop which sells books and homewares, and for $2.00, you can buy a bag of fish food to feed the Koi from Koi Pavilion. At writing, and based on research, the shop is currently cashless, but fish food can be bought with cash as long as you have the right change.
Gosford Regional Gallery is on the shores of Caroline Bay over 26 hectares of public reserve and is one of the leading tourist attractions of the Central Coast. The gallery has a regional gallery, a community gallery, a traditional Japanese strolling garden, as well as studios for art workshops for people of all ages. You can look around yourself, or be part of the guided tours every Saturday morning at eleven am. The guides will take you through the gallery, and then through the gardens from 11.30 am.
Many exhibitions are free to enter, and you won’t have to pay extra for the tours either, but keep in mind that all scheduled activities are subject to change. Check out the
