Sydney's home of handmade returns this weekend
For lovers of small business, unique handmade pieces and relaxed days out with family and friends, Sydney Artisans is the place to be this weekend.
The market will run on Saturday 23 May and Sunday 24 May, from 10 am to 3 pm, bringing together almost 60 talented makers, designers and producers under one roof at the Sydney Portugal Community Club (Fraser Park), 100 Marrickville Rd, Marrickville. Visitors can simply look for the bright and colourful Ronaldo mural and follow the signs for free parking and the market entrance.
Entry to the market is completely FREE.
A celebration of local creativity
Sydney Artisans is dedicated to showcasing products that are designed and/or handmade in Australia by smaller creators. From art and illustration to jewellery, ceramics, fashion, homewares, beauty and gourmet treats, every stallholder brings their own story, craft and passion to the event.
The market was founded by cousins and colleagues Celina Pereira (CJP Beauty) and Nalita Ferraz (Doce D'amor). Drawing on their experiences running market and expo stalls in Sydney and Melbourne, they created an event that truly champions local makers. Their goal is to provide a space where like-minded creators can shine, and where visitors can discover something special to take home.
What visitors will discover
The following highlights offer just a glimpse of what awaits at Sydney Artisans:
Art & Illustration
Raisa Kross Illustrations brings Australia to life through playful, detailed artworks celebrating native flora and fauna, natural scenery and familiar urban landscapes. On the day, Raisa will also present her Express Portrait Booth – a fun 15-minute session where she creates a personalised pencil portrait in her signature style.
Baby & Kids
Toothless returns with her much-loved tooth fairy pillows - hand-embroidered, whimsical keepsakes that capture the magic of childhood. Available in a wide range of characters, including puppies, bunnies, dinosaurs, unicorns, mermaids and minions, each pillow features a small pocket on the back ready for tiny teeth and special surprises.
Beauty
Warrada Studios takes its name from the Wiradjuri pronunciation of the Waratah, a symbol of fortitude and strength for thousands of years for Indigenous peoples of NSW. Press-on nail artist Alexis Ringrose hand-paints every set with meticulous detail, creating bold, beautiful and fun designs in a variety of shapes and styles. Each handmade set is crafted to help wearers feel confident, powerful and uniquely themselves.
Candles & Wellbeing
Chivatara Collection offers a luxurious range of home and body products inspired by Thai floral traditions and rituals of wellbeing. The collection includes candles, home fragrances, waterless diffuser oils, fragrance diffusers, body oils and scrubs – all blending timeless craftsmanship with modern refinement.
Ceramics
Nadina Lawson Clay & Fibre Arc creates small-batch, hand-built pottery inspired by Australia's natural landscapes. Her pieces feature organic shapes, earthy tones and a focus on the beauty of imperfection, making them ideal for adding character and warmth to any home.
Craft & Hobby
Georgia May Creates brings colour and joy through beaded keychains, hand-stitched trinkets, drawings, fabric art and ceramics. Every piece is made with love, creativity and a touch of whimsy, designed to brighten someone's day.
Fashion
Your Kreatives, created by fabric artist Karin Yates, specialises in upcycled denim and rock'n'roll-inspired clothing that adds attitude and edge to any wardrobe. Visitors will also find one-of-a-kind upcycled bags and wallets crafted from fabrics, VHS covers and recycled recipes and advertisements from the 1950s and 60s.
Homewares
Matt Dwight Objects in Wood presents modern, functional timber homewares handmade from salvaged, recycled and sustainably sourced timber. Each piece is designed to be both practical and beautiful, adding a refined, natural touch to any space.
Jewellery
Marina Civiero is a jewellery design teacher and maker whose unique pieces echo the repetition of fabric stitching, looping and criss-crossing. Her work combines contemporary expression with extraordinary care and precision, resulting in wearable art that stands out.
Packaged Food & Beverages
Food lovers can explore everything from jams and preserves to specially blended chai teas, wines from
Weerona Wines, and gins and agave from award-winning Northern Beaches distiller
Finders Distillery. These pair perfectly with creative cocktail mixers from
El's Place.
