What do you do when the boy everyone fears is sitting right in front of you?
For the first time on a Sydney stage, Tiny Dog Productions brings Monster by acclaimed British playwright Duncan Macmillan (People, Places and Things, Every Brilliant Thing) to KXT on Broadway - for a strictly limited season from 6–21 March 2026.
Monster locks a teacher in with a dangerously troubled teenage boy and refuses to let anyone - on stage or in the audience - look away. When Tom (Albert Mwangi) and Darryl (Campbell Parsons) are left alone, a tense battle of wills explodes, and one boy's actions send shockwaves through everyone around him.
This is theatre that gets under your skin. How far does your empathy go when you're staring violence in the face? Are "monsters" born, or do we help create them? And if the monster was at your own doorstep, what would you really do?
Following their 5-star hit
The Children’s Hour at The Old Fitz, Tiny Dog Productions returns with another gripping, emotionally charged piece that will have audiences talking all the way home.
A powerhouse creative team
Directed by award-winning theatre-maker Kim Hardwick
(Baby Teeth, Mercury Poisoning, The Lives of Eve, Deadskin, The Walworth Farce), Monster features a standout cast of Sydney talent:
• Romney Hamilton
(The Children’s Hour, The Old Fitz)
• Linda Nicholls-Gidley
(The House of Bernarda Alba)
• Campbell Parsons
(Babyteeth, KXT)
• Albert Mwangi (2025
Sydney Theatre Award nominee)
With an accomplished creative team and support from The City of Sydney and Darlo Drama, Monster promises a raw, unsettling and unforgettable night at the theatre.
If you love gutsy, contemporary drama that doesn't flinch from the hard questions, this is the show you can’t miss this March.
