Every year, Mingara Recreation Club in Tumbi Umbi lights up its outdoor grounds like a kid's fever dream for the Christmas Lights Spectacular, with animated displays flickering about, festive tunes looping endlessly, and themed zones to amble through while snapping the obligatory family photos thatll haunt your albums forever.

Its running nightly right through late December, a hit with the little ones for all those bright colours and paths smooth enough for prams, so no ones left wrestling a stroller through the dark. Entry is free, and you can duck inside the club for food and drinks if the glow makes you peckish.
