On Tuesday 30 June 2026, Gosford Regional Gallery invites families to do something that doesn't involve a screen, a queue, or a meltdown over a lost ice cream. Kids can mess about with free creative activities in the art space, which is basically a controlled chaos zone where glue, paper, and glitter meet their maker. Then you can all wander into the Edogawa Commemorative Garden, a Japanese-style haven with koi ponds, little bridges, and enough shade to pretend you've actually left the Central Coast for a moment. It's the sort of place where kids can run off some steam without running into traffic, and parents can stand still long enough to remember what the sky looks like.
If you're after something that feels like a proper outing but also lets you sit down with a coffee from the on-site cafe while the kids occupy themselves, this is your move. The gallery throws in seasonal craft during school holidays, so there's always something new to distract small hands. Basically, it's a low-stakes, indoor-outdoor combo that won't leave you needing a nap by 10am. Or at least not a longer one than usual.
