Book lovers, bargain hunters and collectors are invited to join Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Sydney's much-loved Book Clearance Sale as it returns to Hornsby this May.


Taking over Hornsby War Memorial Hall for two big days, the sale will feature more than 40,000 quality pre-loved books, DVDs and CDs, offering incredible value and plenty of hidden treasures waiting to be discovered - learn more here.


Whether you are searching for your next read, building your home library or finding affordable children's books, there will be something for everyone. Shoppers can browse a huge variety of categories, including fiction, non-fiction, biographies, cookbooks, children's books, young adult titles, textbooks, history, travel, collectibles, music and movies.


The event has become a favourite tradition for many families and avid readers, with people travelling from across Sydney each year to enjoy the atmosphere, stock up on bargains and support an important cause.

Every purchase made helps fund Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Sydney's vital local services, including the 24/7 Crisis Support Line (13 11 14), Lifeline Connect, counselling, community aid programs, support groups and emergency relief services.

The sale is made possible through the incredible efforts of Lifeline Harbour to Hawkesbury Sydney’s dedicated volunteers, who spend countless hours sorting, categorising and preparing donations to create an enjoyable shopping experience for the community.


Conveniently located opposite Hornsby train station and bus interchange, and next to Hornsby RSL Club, Hornsby War Memorial Hall is easy to access by public transport or car.

Visitors can also continue the treasure hunt at our Lifeline Hornsby Book Shop, which will extend its trading hours to 9am–4pm on both Saturday and Sunday over the weekend of the Clearance Sale. Just a short walk over the pedestrian overpass beside Hornsby Library and next to Westfield Hornsby, it’s the perfect extra stop for book lovers. More details here.
