Mega Jam is an epic creative arts jam event at the
Funhaus Factory this July. For two years the Funhaus ran ‘Sunset Sessions’ in Woy Woy on the Central Coast. These events were filled with fabulously epic lineups of local bands, art and circus spaces as well as open microphones and jams.
Now,
Space Rock Inc , an environmental and creative arts not-for-profit on the Central Coast, is bringing Mega Jam to life at the Fun Haus in Gosford this July in an event for all ages and all types of creatives – so if you’re a muso, come onstage to make magic with music, or you can head over to the craft corner to get crafty and learn new skills, or even dance with the flow of circus jam!
Mega Jam everyone will have the chance to do anything from art and craft skills with local artists who draw, crochet, weave, paint, knit and make badges, or sew. You can even have a go at hula hooping, spinning staffs, and jamming with other local musicians. Or, you can observe, dance, and enjoy a burger and drinks whilst absorbing the magic of the day.
Not only is Space Rock Inc. an epic not-for-profit, but they specialise in fantastic multifaceted, vibrant, and collaborative events. And, they have fantastic things like their ‘Events for Existing’ initiative, which is aimed at education and development of skills, as well as creating spaces to collaborate and express creativity. They also harness the awesome grassroots local creatives and musicians for magical and meaningful experiences.
Space Rock Inc. is partnering with another local organisation,
The Crud Muffins for this event. The Crud Muffins are a diverse group of creatives with experience and expertise across art education, circus instructors, performers, and practising artists. Their community of CRUDS (Creative Reaction Until Dawn Supporters) values imperfection celebrates the lowbrow and rejoices in playful absurdity. While you’re here, you can enjoy burgers, empanadas and street food from
Beau’s Burgers .
The event is on the 28th of July and runs from 1pm until 5pm, with a $10 happy hour and Beau’s Burgers for lunch. This is an event for all ages, but anyone under 18 must be accompanied by an adult, and the venue is fully accessible. Children under 4 are free, whilst it is $10 for everyone else, and you must register to attend.
