Australia's only water-access only music festival is coming back to Patonga this November. The Patonga Blues Across the Bay festival returns on the second of November for another year of fabulous music. And it’s the only water-access only music festival in Australia, according to the website. Come to the 22nd annual festival and have a good day filled with music and picnics.

It’s held at Broken Bay Sport and Recreation Centre, which is only accessible by boat, so the tickets for this event will include ferry trips to and from Patonga Wharf on the day. During this epic day-long event, which starts at 9am and goes until 5.30pm, you will get to hear three wonderful bands, and you can bring your own picnic in what promises to be a great day out for everyone.

So, what happens at this festival? To start, you’ll go on the renowned ferry ride from Patonga, where you can drop off your picnic and chairs to the centre staff so you can walk to the festival site – a 3-minute flat walk, and should you need assistance, just ask the wonderful staff.

What will happen at the festival? It will begin with a Welcome to Country, before you’re entertained by three fantastic bands as you eat and drink your food. You can have a bit of a dance, and enjoy a very relaxed afternoon.

Ferries leave from 9.30am until 11.30am, and there will be two ferries to get everyone to Broken Bay Sport and Recreation Centre in time for the festival. All eskies, picnic rugs, chairs and baskets will be loaded onto a truck to be delivered to the festival site.

As this is a not-for-profit community event, it is run entirely by volunteers. Your ticket price includes the band, the ferry trip and the venue hire. Even with the ticket price increases, this will still be a fantastic festival where any money raised goes back in to the community to furnish the Patonga Pavillion, install bench seats in the village, donate to local causes and make improvements in the Patonga Progress Hall.
