Plot Gay 2025 – Creative Writing Workshop



Have you ever wanted to write your queer story? Then come along to the Mini Haus at Donnison Street on the 1st of October at 11am for Plot Gay – a creative writing workshop . This is a creative writing workshop for LGBTQIA people and allies aged 16 and over, and you can even take a friend or support person to help you write your story.

For $25, you can attend this 2-hour, inclusive and accessible session. Everyone attending will get to write their own queer stories in a relaxed and supportive environment that is especially designed for people who have trouble with reading and writing. This includes adults with an intellectual disability, but everyone who enjoys creative writing is encouraged to attend. The more we support the arts, the more we get to have events like this!

You don’t need any writing experience, as you will be guided through fun and creative prompts, and will leave with an outline for your next story. And there’ll be a chance for you to enter your easy-to-read story in a competition later this year, so keep an eye on the Coastal Twist website. The winners of this competition will be announced on the 3rd of December, which is International Day of People with Disability. All materials will be provided, but bring what you like to write with.

What will be included for accessibility?

Coastal Twist recommends that attendees to this event are aged 16 and over due to possible mature themes, and anyone under 18 should be accompanied by an adult. The venue is fully accessible, and your support means the artists can keep doing what they do. Don’t forget to register to attend at the link at the top of this article.
