Reclaim the Night Poster
Reclaim the Night is a movement that advocates for the safety of women and children who deserve to be safe everywhere. On the 18th of October, there is a free event in Memorial Park, The Entrance to bring this movement to the Central Coast.
The Reclaim the Night Festival in October will have live music, fireworks, market stalls and more as the community comes together to advocate for an important cause. It will begin with a street march at 5.30pm from The Entrance Police Station to Memorial Park. It will be accompanied by drummers, and to be involved, you are advised to arrive by 5.20pm. This will be followed by a Smoking Ceremony at 5.45pm, and then a panel of inspiring guest speakers.
From there, you can enjoy live music from local artists – Ella Powell and Pati Telea, fire twirling, drumming, market stalls, food trucks, some awesome free face painting, and there will be a fantastic resource tent that will help people and provide information on domestic violence.
You will also get to enjoy amusement rides like a Ferris wheel, the dodgem cars, a cup and saucer ride, fun bungee trampolines – and much more that looks like it is going to be a surprise.
The night will be headlined by a band called The Little Quirks, who will rock the night, and then at 8.55pm, catch the awesome fireworks to close the night! Check out more information at the Love Central Coast website.
