There are several wonderful events happening during Coastal Twist, including the fabulous Rise and Shine LGBTQIA+ art exhibition . This is a new major exhibition that aligns with the 2024 festival theme, and it will feature artwork from local artists. These artists will be curated from a line-up of professional artists, mid-career artists, as well as a range of emerging artists with promise who work across multiple platforms. The displays in this free exhibition have been created from ceramics, paint, photography, multimedia and sculpture. Each work displayed in this exhibition at the Funhaus Factory offers fresh Central Coast LGBTQIA perspective and a unique Coastal Twist.

There’s a youth category this year for artists aged 12-17, as well as an All-Ages category for everyone else. This is the fourth Coastal Twist Festival LGBTQIA+ Art exhibition featuring works that examine and reveal personal stories and the lives of Coasties whilst celebrating art.
Visitors to this exhibition will see that the artists on show have responded to the Rise and Shine theme in an array of works that are political, and that challenge the status quo. Other artists looked at their struggles in their work and turned them into a work of empowerment, whilst other works are quite personal.

The exhibition is opening the following days and times:
Wednesday 2nd Oct: 10am – 5pm
Thursday 3rd Oct 10am – 10:30pm
Friday 4th Oct 10am – 5pm
Saturday 5th Oct 10am – 5pm
Monday 7th Oct 2pm – 5pm
