School Holiday Program – Beaded Friendship Bracelets

On Tuesday, 15 July 2025, from ten till eleven in the morning, Kincumber Library is opening its doors for a school holiday session that might just save your sanity. For eight bucks a kid, anyone aged five or over can just rock up and dive into the glorious world of beaded friendship bracelets. It is a drop in affair, so no need to sign up for a lifetime commitment, just show up with your small humans and their spare change.

They will be armed with beads and stretchy cord, destined to create some rather fetching wrist candy. It is a solid hour of keeping little hands surprisingly busy, which is a win in itself. Plus, there is the added bonus of them actually producing something they can either proudly give away or, even better, take home without a prolonged argument. And whisper it quietly, but all this bead threading might even give their fine motor skills a subtle workout, without anyone having to utter the dreaded word 'education'.
