This year, the Coastal Twist LGBTQIA+ festival is unveiling their new group exhibition, “Strength in Unity” .

2025 marks the 5th annual LGBTQIA+ art exhibition, and the showcase for this year aligns with the theme. It will curate a powerful collection of works by artists at all stages of their careers from across the Central Coast.

What can you expect? A vibrant mix of mediums from ceramics, to painting, photography, multimedia, and sculpture. Each piece will give people a unique, local LGBTQIA_+ perspective with the Coastal Twist flair.

Where will this exhibition take place?

It will take place in the new Funhaus Factory Basement Gallery from the 30th of September until the 2nd of November. This is a space designed to amplify bold and diverse voices, and create deeper engagement with the arts in the heart of Gosford.

Not only that, but the exhibition will include works by artists aged 12-17, and an all-ages category to help bolster the festival’s commitment to intergenerational expression in the arts.

The theme, “Strength in Unity”, explores the themes of identity, resilience, transformation and community, and some artists will challenge the status quo with political statements. Whilst other artists will reflect on personal struggles and their journeys to empowerment. And other artists will share intimate moments, creating a rich, honest tapestry of Coastie lives and queer creativity.

Sandro Nocentini will be a guest curator in 2025, and the exhibition will be open on Wednesdays to Sundays during venue hours. Check the Funhaus Factory website for more details .
