Want to immerse yourself in words and stories on the Central Coast? Come to the Words on the Waves Writers Festival from the 29th of May until the 3rd of June.

Words on the Waves Writers Festival is a celebration of words and ideas that takes place on the scenic Central Coast, just an hour north of Sydney. It features author talks, panels, evening conversation events, a literary cruise, as well as a family fun day, a school program and much more. There will be a diverse range of high-quality literary events for locals and visitors across the weekend. The main festival program will take place at Umina Beach Surf Life Saving Club and Ocean Beach Surf Life Saving Club on the 1st and the 2nd of June. A new festival marquee called The Dip will be at the Peninsula Recreation Precinct on these days as well. If you have sessions booked at either of the surf clubs above, it is an easy seven-minute walk between them. To attend the Saturday or Sunday sessions, you must buy a day pass, and are free with the day pass, whilst other events require single tickets and incur separate costs.

This is a major event on the Central Coast, showing that it is a literary region just as much as Sydney or Melbourne, and in a very beautiful place.
