The Welcome Choir, also known as "Ding! Dang! Dong! WELCOME CHOIR," is an inclusive, open-to-all singing group that embraces people of all ages, genders, and singing abilities. Similar to karaoke nights in a friendly bar, it offers a welcoming space for participants to sing popular songs from various eras, promoting joy and harmony. This choir operates without auditions or the need to read sheet music, with a new song introduced at each session following a vocal warm-up led by experienced choir master Bek Jensen. Originally founded in Newtown, Sydney, in 2016, it has grown substantially, offering a unique social enterprise experience at the Funhaus Factory, featuring authentic Mexican street food and beverages, making it suitable for all ages (under 18s must be accompanied by an adult).
