Start writing flash fiction from the Central Coast Libraries website
Have you ever wanted to learn how to write flash fiction, but don’t know where to start? Are you a fan of the fabulous podcast Not Quite Write? Then this workshop at Umina Library on the second of July could be for you! Join the effervescent Amanda Scotland from Not Quite Write at Umina Library on the 2nd of July for
Start Writing Flash Fiction .
Amanda’s expertise is from her time spent judging and running the Not Quite Write Prize for Flash Fiction, and it’s a form of writing that is quite different to other writing. In flash fiction, you have to tell a story in around 500 words. A full story, not just one scene. Join Amanda during this workshop to learn:
• What makes flash fiction unique and what sets it apart from other storytelling.
• Develop the key skills to craft compelling, memorable stories in 1500 words or fewer.
• Explore how to grow your talents, submitting to publications and earning an income from your writing.
• And get insider tips on what judges look for in flash fiction.
You will get to dive straight into your own flash fiction during the workshop, leave with fresh ideas, stories in progress and the ability and confidence to create.
Keep in mind that this workshop is for adults only. Bookings open on the 22nd of June at 8am, and the event will cost $10. Check out the
Central Coast Libraries page for more information or call 4304 7333.
